How do you take care of a wild baby dove?
Baby mourning doves must be kept clean and warm until they are feathered. A box lined with paper towels is easy to keep clean. Add dried grass or straw as a nesting material. Start with a temperature of 95 degrees, and lower it by one degree each day.
How long can baby doves go without food?

Can a fledgling survive on its own?
Seeing baby birds on their own is perfectly normal, so there’s no need to be worried. These fledglings are doing exactly what nature intended and left the nest deliberately a short while before they are able to fly.
How do you make a dove food?
Making homemade food for doves is as easy as collecting wild grass and weed seeds in a paper bag throughout the summer from fields near your home. Place your cupped hand below the seeds on the grass stalk and pull upward and seeds will readily release into your hand.
Do doves abandon their babies?
Doves and especially the nondomestic doves will abandon their eggs or young seemingly for no reason.
Can doves eat bread?
Yes. Birds should not be offered many of the foods humans eat. Bread (fresh or stale): provides no real nutritional value for birds; moldy bread can harm birds.
